Thursday, September 23rd, 2021
Congrats to all of this year’s NAIOP Awards of Excellence nominees and honorees. We join our client and project team in celebrating winning the AOE honor for Haven Homes Senior Health & Living.
The NAIOP Minnesota Awards of Excellence celebrates commercial real estate in Minnesota by selecting exceptional developments in diverse industries. Judges toured (virtually) each nomination and evaluated them on project development, function and design, architectural integrity, market feasibility, sustainable attributes and unique project challenges.
Haven Homes Senior Health & Living
Cassia’s Haven Homes Senior Health & Living replaced the outdated 1960s care center in Maple Plain, with a full continuum community designed with transitions in mind as it combines the full level of housing options for seniors, including skilled care, transitional care, assisted living, memory care and independent living, and an adult day program. The design supports holistic wellness with physical, mental, and spiritual resources for residents.
Located in a rapidly-growing area known as the “Gateway to Maple Plain” with convenient connections to nature, retail and transit. The design fits the Maple Plain agricultural roots with a modern farmhouse aesthetic. Cassia and the design team committed to following this style through with bright, white walls contrasted with dark window frames, dark lighting fixtures, and pops of bold color in details and furniture.
Although this project faced challenges – lengthy planning efforts in two municipalities, navigating complicated financing hurdles, designing for the new Cassia brand, and relocating 24 care center residents and 13 assisted living residents safely in the height of the pandemic – the outcome for residents, care providers and Maple Plain is remarkable!
