Deephaven Woods now provides valuable senior housing

Last Tuesday, Deephaven Woods senior living had their grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.

Deephaven Woods is a partnership between the Ebenezer Society and the St. Therese Catholic Church to help provide housing for seniors in the community.

The new facility, designed by Pope Architects and constructed by Kraus-Anderson Construction Company, features a blend of senior apartments, assisted living and memory care.

“Pope Architects was very attentive and open to feedback.” said Jennifer Bever, Executive Director of Deephaven Woods. “They weren’t the typical architecture firm that ran as soon as the building was done.”

St. Therese Catholic Church, who owned the land, partnered with Ebenezer for their expertise in the senior living industry. Pope Architects was brought on for their experience in healthcare and housing. Deephaven Woods is the only senior living in the community.

“It really gives them an opportunity to stay in the community that they have lived in for 50 or even 60 years,” said Bever. “It makes the transition easier, and it gives them security and comfort knowing that they are still going to be an important part of their community”

Located next to St. Therese Catholic Church, Deephaven Woods is located just a few minutes west of the lake. However when standing inside, the bright lobby and natural light give off the feeling that the lake is just on the other side of the building. Nautical and fishing decor that would fit in at any cabin adorns the lobby, hallways and community spaces.

Each of the 78 units is spacious and bright for the new residents. With on-site amenities like a spa, salon, work out facility and movie theater, Deephaven Woods provides an enriching space for seniors in the community.
