PrairieCare Chaska Clinic was honored at Minnesota Business Magazine’s 2014 Leaders in Healthcare Awards with the Interior Design/Architecture Project Award.
The awards banquet was held on October 29, 2014 and honored leaders in Minnesota’s healthcare industry, companies that offer software services, employee wellness programs, medical devices, community outreach and other notable services.
PrairieCare was selected for the Interior Design/Architecture Project Award from a group of three finalists, includign Park Nicollet Women’s Center and the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing at Abbott Northwestern-WestHealth.
The health care environment at all locations of PrairieCare has played a crucial role in the healing process for its patients. At the existing PrairieCare Maple Grove, the company started working collaboratively with Pope Architects in 2010 to create a therapeutic environment for individuals who may be experiencing severe depression, anxiety, stress, or are a danger to themselves or others. PrairieCare continued to work with the firm when designing its new Chaska location.
- The spaces were planned to maximize a therapeutic, calming environment, along with operational efficiencies.
- The design features comfortable, modern, and healing environments for families and patients.
- It also breaks down barriers between patients and staff, unlike traditional psychiatric facilities.
- Plus, the design incorporates an inspiring and calming color palette that uses natural materials and brings in natural light to create a connection to the outdoors within a safe environment.
