Hearts & Hammers: Giving Back & Celebrating Community

We had a fantastic time last week giving a local resident, Joyce, her “best present ever” for her upcoming 93rd birthday. Pope’s employees volunteered through local nonprofit Hearts & Hammers by giving Joyce’s home exterior a clean-up with new paint, lawn work, and fence, facia, step and sidewalk repairs.

Each year, employees look forward to participating in this event to support Hearts & Hammers’ mission and strengthen our local community through an annual event. The mission of Hearts & Hammers –Twin Cities is to provide exterior home improvement assistance for Senior Citizens, Disabled Individuals, and Veterans of the United States Armed Forces or their Surviving Spouse so that they may continue living independently.

Hearts & Hammers assists local, low income homeowners whose exterior of their homes is deteriorating and may even be in danger of losing their homes. Through work of volunteers, the organization restores and preserves homes so that residents can safely stay in their affordable homes.
